Apple TV updated to IOS 4.1.1, to fix bug and resolution problems

A new Apple update for the Apple TV, v4.1.1, in an attempt to address ongoing issues users are experiencing with picture quality and downloading streaming media. According to Apple’s support documentation, the new firmware fixes a bug “that causes some high-definition TVs to incorrectly display at 480p” (address some of the HDCP and Netflix errors we’ve been seeing) as well as “addresses an issue that may cause a movie or TV show to be re-downloaded.” Continue Reading »

Apple iOS 4.2 Airplay Feature Review

Apple announced that a full-scale update to the tablet’s OS would be coming in the form of iOS 4.2, bringing a slew of new features to the device. Additions multitasking, folders, major mail improvements, Game Center integration, Safari enhancements (like find-in-page text searches), WiFi network connection, certain connected printers, and the new Apple TV in an attempt to make the company’s slate less like a distraction and more like the center of your digital life.

OnLive streaming to your HDTV only $99

The OnLive microconsole, a small gadget that offers web-based gaming in high definition quality, is now available to order prior to a December 2 release date. OnLive is planning to bring its video game streaming service to your HD TV with its new console box.

The $99 microconsole comes with a control pad and a choice of free game from OnLive’s library of recent retail releases. It comes with an HDMI port, AV port, ethernet, 3.5mm audio jack, an optical port and a controller. OnLive will also support 1080p 3D TV making it pretty future-proof.
